Hands-On Testing Protocol and Sample Policy

ORIGINAL TESTING STANDARD

Current status

This protocol defines future hands-on reviews; it is not evidence that every catalog product has been tested

A page may use the “hands-on tested” label only after GadgetJoy Lab obtains a physical sample, identifies the exact variant, records the procedure and publishes observations that another tester could reproduce.

Required test record

  • Product name, model, hardware revision, selected bundle and source.
  • Whether the sample was purchased, borrowed or supplied free.
  • Test dates, tester, device/app versions and network conditions.
  • What was measured, tools used and number of repetitions.
  • Failures, resets, firmware updates and deviations from instructions.
  • Original photos or video showing the tested sample and setup.

Common test sequence

  1. Package audit: compare delivered contents with the selected listing variant.
  2. First setup: time assembly, charging, account creation, pairing and first successful action.
  3. Core activity: complete at least three representative projects or challenges.
  4. Repeatability: repeat key actions after power-off, reset or app restart.
  5. Ownership checks: examine charging, consumables, cleaning, storage, spare parts and documentation.
  6. Risk review: document small parts, heat, exposed mechanisms, microphones, cameras, accounts and cloud dependence.

Category measurements

Category Minimum hands-on checks
Robot kit Parts audit, assembly time, first program, motor consistency, sensor repeatability, reset workflow
Robot arm Joint range, repeat positioning, payload method, power behavior, pinch points
Logic game Difficulty progression, rule clarity, reset, replay depth, battery behavior
Instant-print camera Setup, usable prints per roll, print consistency, refill fit, storage and battery
Connected smart toy Offline functions, permissions, account deletion, microphone/camera indicators, service dependence

Sample and sponsorship policy

Free products do not guarantee coverage, a positive verdict or a dofollow link. The supplier cannot approve the conclusion before publication. Factual corrections are accepted; editorial judgments remain independent. A supplied sample is disclosed on the review page.

Versioning and corrections

Hands-on findings apply to the tested unit and version. When hardware, firmware, app behavior or package contents change materially, the page should state that the earlier result may no longer apply and schedule a retest where practical.

No current blanket test claim: Existing research-based product profiles remain labeled “Not hands-on tested” unless their individual page is upgraded with a completed record under this protocol.
