PRINTABLE BUYING CHECKLIST
Before checkout
Confirm the exact variant can move, sense, receive power and run its first program
The word “Arduino” does not prove that a controller is included. Check the selected package against every layer below and save a copy of the listing before ordering.
Robot kit completeness checker
Check only items explicitly included in the exact seller variant—not items that merely appear in a photo.
Core hardware
- Named microcontroller board or an explicit statement that it is not included.
- Motor driver rated for the included motor voltage and current.
- Chassis, motors, wheels, caster or omniwheel, brackets and fasteners.
- USB/data cable—not merely a charging-only cable.
- Battery holder or rechargeable pack, switch, connector and compatible charger.
Sensors and expansion
- Ultrasonic, infrared line, encoder or other named sensors shown in the selected variant.
- Mounting brackets and cables for each sensor.
- Enough controller pins, ports or an expansion shield.
- Voltage compatibility between 3.3V and 5V devices.
Software and documentation
- A downloadable assembly guide that matches the hardware revision.
- Wiring diagrams with readable pin labels.
- Sample code and named libraries.
- Supported IDE or block-coding platform and current operating-system requirements.
- A troubleshooting path for ports, drivers, power and reversed motors.
Tools and supervision
Verify whether screwdrivers, hex keys, wire cutters, soldering equipment or a multimeter are required. Small fasteners, lithium batteries, hot soldering tools and exposed moving parts can change the appropriate age and supervision level.
Is a battery normally included?
Not reliably. International shipping restrictions often cause batteries to be excluded even when demonstration photos show them.
What is the most commonly missed component?
The controller or battery is often missing from the lowest-priced variant; the motor driver and data cable are also easy to overlook.
Should beginners choose more sensors?
No. One well-documented sensor and a successful project teach more than a large undocumented bundle.
